Wedding weekend plans

Hello All,

Just to let you know some of our plans so far -

Myself, all my family and a shed load of heads from Bray are flying in to Bilbao on the Thursday afternoon. God help Dublin Airport, Ryanair, Bilbao airport and Pamplona, is all I can say!

As some of you may already know, its (my best man) Jake's birthday on the Friday (25th)
As most of us arrive on the Thursday, the plan is to go out for a few light refreshments on that night, so as not to risk temptation on Friday night!I will let you all know when I've organised a suitable place to meet up, but it'll more than likely be somewhere central in town.

Some more folk will be arriving on Friday evening and I'm sure you'll find your way around Pamplona no bother! So whatever y'all get up to on the Friday night, don't include me in any drinking plans.....and go easy, as we've an early start on Saturday!

Saturday morning we'll all be up early (not just Elena and I!) because the wedding is in Egues, which is about a 20 minute drive from Pamplona. We'll be organising a bus from the Iruna Park and back, and that will be leaving quite early, at 11am. The wedding will be at 12, and then its back to Pamplona for the reception. If you're not on the bus list (if you haven't spoken to me) then text me and let me know if you want a place on the church bus.

The meal will be at 3 ish, and should finish around 5ish. The vibe is that we'll stay dancing and celebrating at the hotel until around 8ish and (as is the custom in Pamplona) then on to another venue nearby for more dancing, dancing, drinking, hooha buck wild celebrations til the wee hours..... and then...

Sunday is my 31st birthday (hint hint) so anyone who's staying is welcome to come out celebrating with us in Pamplona (venues to be decided!)

As venues plans etc. are further organised I'll put up another blog, so stay posted!!!

Loads of love from Elena and me,

Keith.

hairdresser's addresses and details

Hi,

Once again the wonderful Susana has saved the day with a list of hairdressers, prices, locations and even a map! But unfortunately I'm crap at this so I can't save excel files, so I'm gonna get onto Ana, whose blog this actually is! and ask her to help me cos I'm (keith) stoopid!

Lots of love,

Keith and Elena

wedding menu and wedding list

Hey all,

Only 12 days to go!!!! I can't believe it. I'm starting to get a bit nervous now. Myself and Elena have to practice our waltzing for the first dance, which is giving me nightmares! But all good anyway. The stag was an absolute blast last weekend. Fair play to Ste, Joey and all the boys for organising it, I was well chuffed that everyone made it out for a few bevvies.

Anyway, the menu for the big day is -

Starters

Foie Mousse with plum coulis and a touch of peach

Galician Scallop gratin

Chargrilled prawns from Huelva

Fish course:

Baked monkfish with asparagus and wild mushrooms

Meat course -

Fillet steak with seasonal wild mushrooms
or
Roast lamb with potatoes "panadera" (thin roasted slices of potato

Wedding Cake

Liquid Chocolate Souffle

Coffee

Beverages -

Chivite Chardonnay

Gran Feudo Crianza

Mineral Water

Cava sparkling Brut Freixinet

In relation to the wedding list, we don't have one, as this is not the tradition in Pamplona, and we forgot to organise it! All we ask is that you have a good time and enjoy yourselves.

I'll be writing later this week with a plan for the big day!

Talk to ya all very soon!!!

Lots of love

Keith and Elena

more details re.flights, accomodation etc.

Hi everyone,

Elena and I are heading over to Pamplona next week to get the ball rolling with the church, the menu and anything else that needs sorting. I plan to post up the first names of all the people who are confirmed in the next few days. A load of people have been sending me mails, texts etc. asking about flights etc. so I'm putting up some more info-

The wedding is on Saturday 26th April! (I can't believe some people are still asking me that!)

I'm flying into Bilbao on the 24th of April. Most of my family will be on this flight as well, so if you can afford the extra few days off (you'd have to take Thurs, Fri, Mon and Tues) then maybe this would suit you. I'll be organising a bus to take us to Pamplona, and at the moment its working out at around €50 return, although the more people there are, the cheaper it is.

Quite a few people are flying into Santander (which is still quite cheap even now) and renting cars to drive up to Pamplona. Santander has flights on Friday and Sunday, which suits a lot of people who can't get time off work. Again, I'll be putting up all the info I know about whose going where, so you can work it out between yourselves.

There are apartments available for renting and they work out cheaper than hotels, and the more people, the cheaper it is to spread the cost. If you're interested then check the previous post. If you can't read the table then click on it and it should come up in its own window, and then print it.

The hotel we're getting married in, The Iruna Park, has a special discount for the night of the wedding, although I'll know more about their rates next week.

There are a number of hotels in Pamplona city centre, but our hotel is in an area called Iturrama. Quite a few people have already booked hotels in the city centre. That's absolutely no problem, as Pamplona is quite small anyway. The Iruna Park is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, and there are taxis, buses etc for those not au fait with walking.

We're getting married in Elena's hometown, Egues, which is outside Pamplona. We will be arranging a bus for everyone, and a suitable meeting point. After the wedding we will be coming back to the Iruna Park for our reception.

There's no specific dress code. I'll be wearing a suit. I've no idea what Elena's dress looks like, but needles to say she'll look a million dollars. Please feel free to dress how you feel. We invited you because you are our dearest friends, not because of what you wear...

There will be a vegetarian menu available, but please let me know if you have any special dietary considerations. I'll be contacting the vegetarians separately anyhoo.

Finally for now, if you have a gmail account and would like to leave comments on this blog, you should be able to click the comments section and log in with your gmail address. Otherwise, you can email me or send me a text, or indeed call.

OK, I think that's it. I'm sure I'll have to post again because I've forgotten loads of things....

Speak soon,

lots of love from Elena and me,

keet
